Eco roof of Cob Structures next to Smith

These Eco-Roofs, like the ones on top of the cob furnace and sitting area next to the Smith Center, are a clever and effective way of dealing with the excess water we so often see here in Portland. The roofs are lightweight and easy to take care of. The vegetation planted in them soaks up the water and acts as natural insulation. They can also help reduce energy costs by keeping heat from escaping out a buildings roof.
